About our firm

Ivan Pauw & Partners was founded by Ivan Pauw and Pierre Kruger in 1998, a pivotal time in South Africa’s history. They aimed to provide specialised services in land development and commercial law, addressing key gaps in these fields.

At the dawn of a new democracy, the founders focused on delivering high-quality legal solutions, contributing to South Africa’s development in Land Development Law and the correction of skewed spatial patterns.

Ivan started the firm in 1998, and was a partner of Ivan Pauw & Partners for 23 years. He is currently an exclusive consultant to the firm and specialises in development planning law, environmental law, and commercial property law.

Pierre was one of the Founding Partners of IPP in 1998. The same year he was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. He specialises in high court and magistrate’s court litigation, commercial law, banking law, and insolvency work.

Travis joined IPP as a candidate attorney in 2010, was admitted as an attorney in 2012, became a partner in 2016 and specialises in land development law, administrative law, and local government law.

Nhlanla joined IPP as a candidate attorney in 2015 and was admitted as as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2018. He specialises in developmental planning law, environmental law, and commercial property law.

Nadia joined Ivan Pauw & Partners in 2015 while completing her LLB and commenced her articles of clerkship in 2022. She was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2024 and promoted to Associate in 2026. She practises primarily in Civil and Commercial Litigation, with a focus on commercial disputes, arbitration, debt recovery and enforcement proceedings.
